I think I’m done fiddling with this… I decided to do some classical animation for myself, and made this fun little cycle for the Potoo challenge over on the #CritterJAM group over on deviantART. This was a good excuse to exercise some of the concepts I’ve developed for using animated textures as colour fills in classical animation. It may not be absolutely perfect, but the effect is certainly eye catching. I tried outputting this as a convenient flash video, then as a animated GIF, but neither of those formats gave satisfactory results and reduced the image quality too much. So I opted to render out a looping video stream instead to maintain the best quality.

I picked up a new sketchbook, and some Tombow markers the other day and I decided to take them with me on a trip to the Toronto Zoo this weekend. I’ll be honest, I’ve never really bothered much with markers, but I’m always willing to give something new a go. At the zoo though, I only brought with me a couple of Sanford Design Ebony’s just to keep things simple. It feels good to get back in the groove with a sketchbook and pencil again, in favor of a stylus and Cintiq..

Another doodle while having a meal, and presented with crayons at the table. I know it’s totally lopsided, but that’s the nature of these doodles. (sorta off the cuff, and spontaneous.)

I honestly don’t understand why so many non-artists claim the white crayon is the most useless one. On the contrary, I think the white one is the BEST. ^_^

I live in the U.S. and Scaredy Squirrel airs on Cartoon Network, but they haven't aired any episodes in about a year. I know you don't really understand any of this, but what happened?

I don’t know why you’re assuming I don’t understand anything on the subject.

Facts are: Cartoon Network is continuing to pay us to produce episodes for season 3. 70 episodes total. They do not share their broadcast schedule with us in any way, so I have no way of knowing when or even if they will air the episodes they’re paying us to make. Common sense says that they WILL air the episodes considering they’re PAYING for them, but they’ve chosen to remain quiet about it for some reason. We’re broadcasting worldwide, and CN in the US is the only carrier who seems to be stockpiling episodes. If you want my opinion, my guess is they’re waiting on us to finish up delivery of season 3 before they re-launch the series. That’s a guess though.

Will scaredy have no season 3 ? I saw Wikipedia and say scaredy season 2 is just 10 episodes and say episode seven is actual Finale . , what happened ?

This is typical internet FALSE INFORMATION. We’re currently animating season 3, booked for a total of 70 episodes. Whomever is giving you this information is feeding you a line of bullshit. Just goes to show, don’t believe everything that’s posted on Wikipedia.

I said I wanted to do a proper drawing of my Skyrim Khajiit character, and lo, there he is.. In all his Grumpy Cat glory. Skyrim has got to be one of my fav games in the last 5 or so years. (Even in spite of it’s numerous glitches, and odd issues.)

Had a bunch of fun drawing this tonight. It’s most likely going to be my last post of 2012.. Happy new year everyone!
